We consider planar bursters; that is, those having two-dimensional fast spiking subsystem. There are 4 relevant co-dimension 1 bifurcations of the rest state. There are 4 relevant co-dimension 1 bifurcations of the spiking state. Therefore, there are 16 different types of bursting.
