Type of bursting determines its neuro-computational properties.
Different bursters can have different synchronization properties.
“Fold/*” bursters act as integrators. Burst synchronization depends on the type of connections (excitatory vs. inhibitory).
“SubHopf/*” bursters act as resonators. Burst synchronization depends on the relation of the frequencies of spiking and subthreshold oscillations.
Burst synchronization looks fast even when connections are weak.
